This original watercolour painting depicts a black woman with natural hair painted using a limited palette of colours.
The paper used is a black textured watercolour paper and I used white watercolour paint to paint this lady. The white watercolour paint is slightly opaque when used in a saturated way, but still has the lovely flowy qualities of watercolour paints.
I've also used coloured pencils to add mark-making details to her hair and various other places on this artwork such as the pink leaves.
To me this piece is romantic whilst also capturing your attention with the highly contrasted colour palette.
The painting measures approx. 11.7" x 8.3" and has been painted onto thick, acid-free watercolour paper.
It will be shipped in a clear protective sleeve and in a board-backed envelope marked with 'Please Do Not Bend'
