Nature Themes in My Artwork

Lately I've noticed a few themes consistently running through my artwork and I decided to write about one today.  That theme is Nature.

This theme in my work probably stems from my desire to be closer to nature even though I'm not very green fingered at all.  It may also be influence from my Mum who loves gardening and especially loves trying to beautify my front yard with lovely flowers and plants.  She does a great job with this and I love arriving home and seeing evidence of her presence in the bright flowers that she plants for me.

I have a few indoor plants too, ones that don't need a lot of looking after like succulents, also supplied by my Mum and it really helps to make me feel a little less surrounded by technology all the time and much more in touch with nature.

Here are some of my old and more recent artwork which has a natural theme:

I'm not sure if this theme will continue, but at the moment I enjoy including anything related to the natural world into my work.  I especially like the organic shapes and the colours and how this theme is inspiring me to draw closer to nature in other areas of my life.
