Business Goals for 2012

Before 2011 ended, I started writing down lots of goals that I'd like to work on in 2012.  I don't like to call them New Year's Resolutions as I feel like I'm setting myself up to fail before I've even begun!  Have you noticed that that phrase is starting to have negative connotations? I think it's just the pressure we put on ourselves that overwhelms us. I've actually been apprehensive about listing any of them on my blog in case I can't manage to achieve them after I've told everybody, but fear is not the name of the game for me this year and one of my 2012 key words/phrases will be 'Challenge Yourself'.  I plan to come out of my comfort zone, do things I'm scared to do and say yes to opportunities that may make my knees shake.  I'm not going to overwhelm myself by trying to do too much or to set my sights too high, but I actually believe that writing things down is quite a powerful tool when you want to make changes.

So with all of that in mind, here are some of my business goals for Creativesque during 2012:

  1. Create an Illustrated 2013 Calendar that will feature new artwork.
  2. Start a new Nature Themed Art Series that will of course feature my afro ladies!
  3. Produce sets of artwork prints.  When I did a survey on my facebook page last year about which of my paintings to turn into prints, a few people were really interested in a set of multiple prints.
  4. Blog more!  I've always wanted to devote a little bit more time to blogging about my art and creative process, but my posts have been very sporadic.  Plus there are those popular fears like 'No one will be interested in what I have to say' and 'There's no way I can come up with a brand new topic to write about every week' etc, etc.  So yesterday I started the Ultimate Blogging Challenge which I heard about from Joanne Dewberry's blog.  I'm absolutely scared about this goal but I'm doing it anyway!

So wish me luck with my goals, especially since I have many more written down (what did I just say about not overwhelming myself?) and I would love to hear from any of you who want to share a goal or two in the comments below.  Or better yet, post a link to your blog if like me, you have listed yours in a blog post.
